Royal Shakespeare Company Day

As many will know the school has had a strong link with one of the world’s leading theatre companies – the Royal Shakespeare Company and this week we were lucky enough to have Debbie Korely, an acclaimed actor from the RSC, train our pupils.
She ran two workshops, one for the cast of this year’s production of The Merchant of Venice and one with a group of Y8 boys. I was very proud of our boys and girls who listened attentively and really committed themselves to what were, at times, very challenging drama tasks. We continue to be very involved with RSC’s Learning and Performance Network and hope we can offer more experiences like this to even more of our pupils in the future. Afterwards I received an email from Debbie in which she wrote,
“The school is wonderful and I can't wait to come in March. I had a brilliant time because the young people and staff were so accommodating. A trait that doesn't appear in a few schools unfortunately.”
