Today we were delighted to welcome Mr Akbar Khan, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, along with his colleagues, Ms Meenakshi Dhar, CPA Director of Programmes and Ms Anna Schuesterl, CPA Programmes Assistant as well as Sir David Amess, MP.
They spoke to some of our 6th Form students as well as some 6th Form students from Westcliff High School, about increasing awareness of the important work done by the CPA in promoting parliamentary democracy across the Commonwealth and to connect Parliamentarians with young people in schools, colleges and universities to inspire the next generation of ‘Young Leaders’ and to promote parliamentary democracy and Commonwealth political values.
