St Thomas More High School

BBC School News Report Practice Day

This week, a group of year 9 students have been working hard to create articles and broadcasts (both video and radio) to contribute to our BBC News School Report practice day. Under the watchful eye of Mr Dooley and the supervision of year 10 returning ‘Reporters’ who took part in the event last year, the team of Gifted and Talented students have produced multi-media pieces concerning recent events and sports.

John Jenkins organised the event and directed the day along with the TV piece. He gives his thanks to the music and media department for allowing us to use their specialist equipment. He also wants to thank the year 9s and cannot wait for the next STM practice day and the main event on the 19th March.

This team consisted of the year 9s James Carpenter, Matthew Cronin, Fabrice Farine, Rory Gregory, Ryan Happe, Thomas Kieran, Niall Lambe, Patrick Nee, Luke Olley, Dylan Mitchell-O’Riordan, Louis Porter, Nathaniel Rising, Joseph Rose and Luis Vieira.

The upper school supervision team included director John Jenkins, Jack Poole in writing, Daniel Mann in co-directing, Troy Jamieson in radio & sound, Joshua Rushbrooke in photography & camerawork, and Matt Norris and Elliott Highmore in social media (@BBCNEWSSTM on Twitter and Instagram).

It was a successful day!

Jack Poole, 10A.
