Year 7 & 8 Borough Tennis Championships

A warm Wednesday night after school saw the first ever Southend Borough Tennis Championships take place a Tommy More, participated In by a combined year 7 and 8 team from STM, Shoebury and Westcliff.  The standard of tennis on the night was excellent as the boys played a round robin group stage followed by a knockout round to achieve the eventual winner.  Our competitors did very well with Henry Petty-Mayor reaching the final and losing in a close contest to a Westcliff pupil.  Patrick Milner and Luca  Gaborovic reached the 3^rd and 4^th place playoff with Patrick coming out on top.  A really lovely first event that was well supported by parents and students alike that will hopefully continue for more years to come.  Well done to all those who took part.
