Bronze DOE Practice Weekend

Last weekend our Bronze D of E students headed off for the first time on a D of E walk and they did amazingly well. They navigated themselves from Hullbridge through Hockley woods and then ending up at Southend Airport. They all demonstrated great navigation and map working skills combined with great group effort . Encouragement and teamwork is a key part of the D of E which the group did well.

Once back at school the students had to pitch tents and demonstrate that they have the ability to cook which they all did really well.

I would just like to say how impressed I was with all the students and the effort that they have put into the training and then into the practice weekend. And I am really looking forward to their assessment weekend in June when we head to Danbury.

I would also like to thank Mr Mason, Mrs Saunders and Mrs Wilkes for coming on the trip and helping the students to develop to the standard that they have.
