Outstanding achievement for ‘Tommys Diamonds’
The ‘Diamonds’ attended their second trade fayre of the year in the Eastgate shopping centre in Basildon on Thursday the 19th of March. In addition to the previous products they had been selling, they also had products such as: Tommy’s times tables (Maths Mats), 3 in one smartphone chargers, and Easter gift bags. They made some fantastic sales throughout the day, and again made approximately 75% profit on the products they sold.
The Diamonds, as always, were great ambassadors for the school and we received some excellent feedback from members of the public on their great product ideas and the excellent manner in which the students conducted themselves. On the day, they received their second award, the ‘Judges’ award. The judges felt that the educational theme in which the group have followed to date was outstanding, and they strongly advised that the group stick with this theme and to progress with their ideas in the future.
The Diamonds, as a result of their two awards have now progressed into the South Essex Area Final which will be held in SEEVIC College, Benfleet on the 16th of April at 4.15pm. Parents are welcome to attend.
I would personally like to take this opportunity and say a huge well done to the group for all their hard work as well as their positive and enthusiastic attitude so far. I was extremely proud of them having now won, not one, but two awards to date. I would also like to say a big thank you to, Mr John Foster (Business Advisor & Governor) and Mrs A Lindsay (Head of Business Studies) for their continued hard work and support so far this year; it has meant a lot to the Diamonds.
I wish the group every success in the South Essex Area final and hope to see them progress to the County Finals on Wednesday 29th April at Anglia Ruskin University, Chelmsford.
