County Rugby 7's Success for our Year 9 team

Our Year 9s arrived at New Hall Independent School on Monday afternoon excited but overwhelmed at what they described as “HOGWARTS SCHOOL”.

Competing in the tournament were some of the most established and successful rugby schools in the county, for many of our students it was their first ever competitive 7s games… it would be a big test!

Our lack of experience was well made up for in our determination and pure power. Our tackling was ferocious and we were able to attack with pace from various positions on the field.

In our “group of death” we managed to defeat Coopers Colburn School, Newhall B and Robert Clack School to reach the semi-finals of the County Competition. We faced New Hall A team in the semi-final, however they were a very well organised and talented team who were better than us on the day winning 35-10, they then went on to eventually win the competition!

Our boys came away exhausted but proud of their 3rd place position. A big thank you to the STM PARENTS ASSOCIATION for paying for our new team rugby kit!
