1st XI vs Clacton Coastal Academy

A double header is always a tricky fixture to negotiate and the 1st XI found this out against Clacton Coastal Academy this week. Starting very slowly, they found themselves a goal behind and with the format of the double header, found it hard to settle and get a foot hold in the game.  The difficulty doubled when Clacton got their second of the game. Defeat for the first time this season was the motivation the side needed, they knew they couldn’t lose both of the games.

The second game was much better. The 1st XI attacked with more purpose and gave more in every tackle. A Robinson free kick was put into the box and scrambled in by Ndoro, who played through the pain barrier for his side. The team are now two games away from the end of the season and in a good position to finish what they set out to do and become league champions. Attention for the next fortnight now turns to cup competitions where we hope for continued success.
